About Me
From the age of 6, I have designed and made things! Whether it was pulling objects apart to see and understand how they worked, or creatively solving new design solutions. This led to me obtaining a degree in Industrial Design and winning recognition both locally and internationally.
Over the past years I have diversified my skill base to broaden my exposure and understanding of the different creative paths I enjoy the most.
With a degree in Industrial design, I formally qualified in 1997. Industrial Design being the design process of physical products we purchase at stores or in the market place, that make our everyday lives easier.
Through my exposure of different industries, I found that the fundamentals of design remained the same. The core principles of the relationship between the consumer and the object or application and how it satifies the needs, wants and desires of the consumer.
Through this, it is naturally the creative process to unpacking the needs, wants and desires to formulate a solutioned product. The ideation! The process I enjoy the most. The flow of connecting people to a solution and connecting the solution to a manufactured or production process.

What I offer you…
Industrial Design | Product Design
Design using a process, which involves a design brief from you. From there varying processes are utilised. These processes involve aspects such as research, ideation, concept refinement, accurate 3D-Design and modelling; from which realistic renderings are created, helping you making visual decisions. The manufacturing process is incorporated into the design early on allowing you to align your production capabilities with either existing tooling or new tooling. Finally, detailed production drawings are created.
Graphic Design
Design from logo’s to brochures and marketing materials. Printing and production solutions based on your volume requirements.
Display Stands
Product display solutions for countertop, gondola ends or as per your product showcase requires.
Packaging
Design of packaging solutions based on your production setup either locally or internationally. Often, I must align your design brief with existing die-lines. Alternatively, manufacturing of a die-line can be achieved.
Furniture & Cabinetry
Design of furniture or cabinetry. If you are a factory, then I produce cutting lists and specifications based on your production run and planning.
Sheet Metal
Optimised design capability for sheet metal components based on tooling capabilities of production house. Hole and cut alignments synchronised throughout the design ensuring that each component accurately translates to the next. Bend allowances and adjustments based on material used. Flattening of the design for creating exportable files compatible with production.
Jigs & Moulds
Once your product is designed and depending on the production type or process, I produce jigs or mould designs for you. The Jigs allow for consistency in the manufacturing process especially on a batch production line.
Staircases
Design for manufacture and or manufacture and installation as needed. Visually clean steel structures with a single or double stringer depending on the width. There are a variety of tread options. Custom balustrade components depending on the result you are looking to achieve.
Architecture & Construction
Extensive experience providing design solutions, project management, product sourcing, negotiating between contractors, clients and suppliers and maintaining excellent quality and standards at all levels of implementation.
Attention to detail in aesthetics, and visual balance in all areas of design of residential living space. This includes the all-important technology integration into the living space. Work, plan, manage and implement in all levels of construction for the primary site and the individual homes the following: Civils (Stormwater, Water, Electrical reticulation, Telecom), Earthworks & Blasting, Site planning, Costing, Legal documents, Construction, Finishing & detailing, Landscaping, Interior Design and flow, Structural design and manufacture (such as stairs and balustrade, this includes both steel and wooden components).

Component Machining and 3D Printing
Many of the components need to be prototyped or machined from wood, plastic, ferrous and non-ferrous metals. This includes 3D printing. Various options are available should you need a solution.

Approach
Why I Design
I am a creative individual that needed an outlet for my ability to design, invent and create. I enjoy improving peoples lives through effective design and problem solving, I relish researching and developing new design directions, whilst considering the impact of good aesthetics and ergonomics for those who will interact with the design.
I am constantly drawing inspiration from the environment around us, absorbing shapes, colours and textures; analysing the relationships between forms and their function.
